Wonder if you'll give his teammates a powerboost by timeskip. Like Eiji getting trained by a samurai from the land of Iron, and Aki being trained by some Jonin specializing in wind ninjutsu. Because at this rate even though they're better than the cannon fodder, they can't compete with even the elite genin like Neji and Rock Lee. This is all dependent on if they live. If they die then oh well, no skin off my back. It'll help the mc sever his bonds to the village.
