It seems like the author likes to make the situation go in such a direction that emery is always in a one vs group situation. Why can he never use his brain, and plan anything before recklessly just going in the middle of the group of enemies and then being surrounded. The first time was with the marauders base in the capital and now this. He is committing mistakes which I don't mind even I like a bit, but he is not learning anything from them which is very frustrating. He is a magus but never uses spells until in a critical situation. He has a water whip, why not use that? It has been 118 chapters and I still see him making the same mistakes he made at the starting of the novel and it feels like I just wasted a lot of time.

so many interesting twists. what is this golden knight power... bloodline or magic enhanced? or a rage mode? will the lase live or die. will Emery figure out blink spell and use it... 👍
