Plot twist, his ability realized that since he would just keep getting heavier and heavier with the biomass gained from each kill it gave him jet engines instead of wings (or maybe a combination of the two, the jet engine providing the necessary power and lift to get off the ground and move at high speed, and wings to grant better mobility and control while in the air so that he is able to do more than just go in a straight line)
