I think Erin is brain washed, and I think I know who might have done it, does not excuse killing all of those vampires and Leo but would explain it, she seems to have a hate for vampires even though she is said to resist the urge to kill them. I think it was Bliss, she is always planning ahead to save humanity , even if it means sacrificing thousands of lives. She said Erin would be useful against immortui, so she could have been building her up to fight him.
