Get feeling he will choose Myrtharian. He’s repeatedly made decisions driven by traits inherent in his bloodline. Choosing the soul class will re-enforce them and likely augment his True Will.

Maybe the tier 5 Rune Engraver would be better for him if he wants to become an Atherist, doesn’t sound like there would be big personality changes either.

This is why I love oracle paths. MC actually has to think about his choice and find the optimum path. Unlike the other dumb novels, this is always logical and the mc always faces consequences for his decisions, temporary or otherwise. But an entire chapter dedicated to this discussion is a bit much.

Challenger, Mrytharian or Paragon in that case. Savior would make him take too many risks for others. Jakes not that selfless. And rune engraver would have him obsessed with runes thus missing other opportunities.

I'm pretty sure this won't be his final Soul class, getting it so early in the ordeal seems like a joke when we know how much he had to do for being rewarded his bloodlines. Maybe there will be a way to upgrade it in the academy...

I think it's Ordeal Player. He is in an ordeal and he's going to be in a lot of Ordeals in the future so that's a realistic choice

It's either rune engraver or sunlord. Rune engraver is a good choice for an aetherist and sunlord should give a boost to Jake's heat and radiation. Thx for the chapter!

This was disappointing, but the logic makes sense. I like rewards with consequences.

These soul classes dont sound like very good news to me, imean changing the character of a person is a pretty big oof, and the worst part is you cant resist the change or change back later

Actually, I may not be super disappointed in the final choice. After seeing that these will change you at your very core, I started suspecting that the higher the tier, the more they might force you to focus on a single aspect at the expense... Like, they are so powerful that they drag you along. Instead, like a commenter has said - something like Myrtharian might actually boost him better than even those "powerful" ones.
