The real genius is still Vastor. He was a fake mage. He created his own secret organization. He turned a bunch of abominations into living beings. And he self awakened using his own methods. Of course all of this took him a while but he perceived and succeeded in the end.

They used origin flames? To kill one Grendel? Seems like a total waste to me. I get that magic wouldn't be too effective but still. I thought Origin flames should be a special power only used in dire situations.
