I know it is stupid that he did not kneel and he might as well have gotten his friends killed but I would likely have knelt in such a situation but we must remember the mc is a Confucian scholar and that should inform his beliefs how can someone who has such status and cultivates wisdom and bow like a dog to anyone stronger than them .it may be smart but is there meaning in such an ignoble existence. See first of all the mc had never even met immortals before so he had no idea of their powers (as seen when he was surprised when his horse was burned ),secondly he was genius since birth and had just passed a huge exam at an early age moreover both his fiancé and the ‘immortal’ were looking down on him so he was a little less reasonable and more emotional which is logical considering his age.....so he learnt his lesson hopefully by losing his horse😑😑

This teaster system only works if you give the novels some front page publicity, i only saw this novel because it appeared briefly in the latest chapter release section.

It’s sad, both that the author chose to go with this trope, that they executed it in such a obvious and poor manner, and that so many commenters are actually defending the immortal’s actions. Anyone who is so petty, who cares so much how others view them, who live and die by whether or not other people are “below” them and debase themselves, is weak willed and blinded by their own imperfections. They are to be pitied, not admired.
