If there was ever a time to be uncertain of lith and kamilas future as a couple, now would be that time. She has had the strength to talk to lith about everything they’ve ever faced to date. But this time is different. She has very good reasons to keep her distance, from the magnatude of liths secret, his true relationship with solus, and greatest of all, the baby. On the other hand she now knows everything. there’s nothing more to know, the same dangers that applied to her life remain the same, her love for him as she has known it, and once again the baby. The most alarming thing to me is her phrasing. Not being able to speak her piece if it’s lith she must speak to. She might feel guilty, or afraid of the emotions the man she has come to love will show when she has said her piece. It would be one thing if she were greatful that it’s the void, then we might guess that she has harsh words for him but not for lith. But instead we get avoidance. That suggests that what’s about to be said is nearly as monumental as the entirety of liths past. And the only thing that registers that way is a separation. Best case, it’s only until she feels ready to handle things with him, likely after the war is over. Worst case she asks for a divorce, and a morgar equivalent of a restraining order to prevent her ever having to see or speak with him again. Maybe even suicide on her part knowing that she will need to take that story to the grave. She could leave their child with the guardians, particularly sarlaak or tyris as the two seem to be the motherly sort and the kind of people who would understand a final request without the temptation to experiment the way others might.
Had to come back here to point out that since a contraceptive spell already exists on mogar that a healer of liths caliber should easily be able to perform any necessary “day after/plan-b” spells and solus shouldnt have to wait a month. I know it was mostly for the comedy of the situation but a doctor would realize this instead of just going “oh no, guess we have to wait and see”
