I feel like Calabast is a terrible informant for Ves. She never gives actionable Intel, only vague hints.

We have a guy in my squadron that every time he takes leave, something big breaks. It's gotten so bad that we purposely schedule leave around him so we always have people who can fix what breaks at a moments notice. I call him "ghost" because anytime something happens he's never there...

He regretted that he admitted his dislike towards the Hexadric Hegemony and its culture. He should have lied instead of coming clean. Why he did so at that moment was a complete mystery to Ves. He lied many times without feeling any guilt. Why couldn't he do the same to his girlfriend?
