I'm half-expecting Kallion to be executed as an example against bribery towards the mage association.

So they basically said: "It's aight if you don't join the kingdom, your home is here(possible veiled threat) and we'll protect your family."

No joke but thats it for a reward? Ensured protection of his family, an armor that will be semi obsolete soon anyway considering his mentor and ... not killing him? Wow, what a fail kingdom. And a few meaningless empty words. No acess to anything, no tangible monetary reward and he only had to save the kingdom a few times to get such ENOURMOUS gratitude. Screw them go the beast route 100%

Considering all Lith had to do to become an archmage really makes me wonder what any of the others did to get the title. I honestly thought Lith would go straight to archmage for destroying Black star.

I was hoping for a fight, but I cannot see it happening now. Where will the story go from here?
