im glad these two are back around each other. they are peas in a pod, and are willing to go outside the rules to achieve a greater level. they are both batty and prone to killing anyone they consider sub-human for "research". add in gloria and her antics, and they are a trifecta of mech design in a less than lawful red ocean

He just gave Ves a ton of leverage for negotiations - see comment at end of chapter. With that, he can really put a ton if pressure on the other side.

oh I feel so bad for him. he is making a deal with the devil and the devil is going to eat him alive. The personal tragedies and massive amounts of death that are soon to happen... I feel so bad for the Skull Architect, he tried so hard but met Ves.

Ves should just refuse and leave the room! Calabast didn't settle his old debts and arrange for them sever ties amiably just so they could get back in bed together at a later date. If Ves actually agrees to this, he'll never be rid of the guy! He got out once, it won't happen twice.
