Chapter 13~ Axx And The Discovery Of An Unknown Kingdom

I fling my hand at a tree in my anger. A red and blue flame appear out of nowhere. I would scream, but there is no time as the flames circle qeach other in the air. They fight for power to see who will come out on top. They circle each other as they entwine to create a violent ball of flame.

I watch in panic. "I know this is not good." I think. "DRAGON" I curse out loud. I run as fast as I can away from the ball of flame. My breath comes out rapidly as I try to run faster than my lungs can handle.

My feet are not fast enough. Before I can get too far, I hear BOOM! It hits something so hard it sounds like a bomb.

I can not run fast enough as I feel the heat on the back of my neck. Before I can do anything, my ears ring as I am flung harshly into the air.

I shiver hard in anxiety as I am deathly afraid of heights. I close my eyes tightly. I scream as I spin out of control. I feel nauseous as my stomach jerks in protest. I take a deep breath as my nausea goes away slowly. I cough as a bug flies into my mouth. I gag as I spit them out of my mouth.

I know I am not near my land with the sun shining hotly on my face. Instead I open my eyes in shock. A bitter cold hits my body and it makes me go into shock. The cold seems to enter my soul. I shiver as I feel no warmth.

I gag as I smell something rotten. I hold my mouth as I feel nauseous and my head spins.

All I can do is watch as I fly past a big spiked iron gate. I straighten my body with a massive explosion. I land hard. As I stand up slowly, my legs buckle from underneath me. I stand up again with unsteady legs.

I looked down to see red, orange, and blue flames moving across my body. I look wild and dangerous. I shake my head as I feel almost faint. I hiss as every part of my body throbs in pain.

I can not do anything as guards quickly run to see what happened. They look down at the crater that I created. I watch as they growl out in furry. The guards shove their spears down towards me. I shiver. "I know I am in a lot of trouble." I think in fear.

"Ok, I know this looks bad. I promise this is just a big misunderstanding," I say as I hold my hands up to tell them I am peaceful. My eyes go wide as their weapons inch closer.

"Intruder, what are you doing here? You are trespassing in the Midnight Kingdom! You have only 5 seconds to explain!" The guard's voice is harsh as he shoves his spear at me. It was only inches away from impaling me.

I pale as I look at the spear. My eyes widen in shock. I have never even heard of another kingdom. I scream, "Magicless, Kill, Fire, Letter, BOOM!" I make a squeaking noise as their weapons move a little closer. I feel faint as I sway.

The head guard groans. "Men move back a little." The man lets out a sigh. "Trespasser, speak slowly and calmly and tell me how the Dragon you got here."The guard says in a calming voice, almost as if he does not want to scare me. "Too late!" I think.

With a forced smile on my face, I begin. "Up until today, I was a knight with a bright future." I grimace at the talk of the past.

"It all changed when my kingdom did not want a non-magical knight to protect the kingdom. They tried to kill me even though I was one of the best knights." I say with an emotionless voice. I watch as the massive guards shiver from the tone of my voice.

"It did not work very well. I woke up to a strange and empty land. I could barely move. Until my magic healed me, I got a letter to tell me how to use my magic. It said to think of it and, then, things will happen." My voice becomes confused at the mysterious letter.

"Then I accidentally created an explosion. I was thrown into the air and landed wherever the Dragon here is. The landing was a bit rough." I say with a groan as I rub my ribs.

I go on my tiptoes to see if I can see more of the kingdom. "The Night Kingdom, I believe he said I am. Dang it, I can not see anything other than ice everywhere." I think as I pout in disappointment in my head.

"This place is like a winter wonderland that I have read about in books." I think as I start to shiver in coldness.

"Are you telling us that your magic is that explosive? That is impossible... Unless... but that is impossible, right?" The guard says as I can feel him pacing back and forth as the ground trembles with each footstep.

"Um... Can I go back to the land that will one day become a home worth even royal?" I ask, hopefully, as I take a small step forward in the hole. The guards shove their swords into my face. "I guess I will be staying here for a while. It is all good." I say, holding my hands up as if not to provoke them.

The main guard stops moving. "Men leave him! Come, Mister Knight, follow me!" The head guard says commandingly. The men move back as I sway from not dying from their spears.

The head guard had already walked away. I groan, "I hope I will not be stuck here forever!" I think in fear.

"Excuse me!" I call out loudly to one of the guards.

When I notice that one of them is staring at me. I say, "I do not want to be the one to point out the obvious since you did not kill me. But, how am I to get out of the crater?" I worry as I look around the massive crater and see no way out. Especially since it looked 9 feet deep, but with only being 5'8 feet, I feel like an ant.

A spear enters my line of vision. I flinch in fear as I close my eyes tightly.

"Silly knight, I will not hurt you. If my supervisor knows you will do great things, then it is true. Endless you want to be stuck down there, grab ahold of the spear. I will pull you up." He says with a gruff voice."

"The voice sounds almost familiar." I think as I shake my head to clear away the thought.

I grab ahold of the spear tightly. The guard struggles to pull me up. I twirl my finger around the hole as I try with all my might to help him. My body hits each sharp object as I groan out in pain. Flames flicker from my feet as I am thrown to the top.

I look at the man. "I thank you from the bottom of my heart!" I whisper to him with my voice is full of pain.

Then I look at the hole I just came out of. It looked like it was at least 9 feet deep and 50 feet wide. I blush at the thought of what I did. I see the flames licking at the ground, making it bigger. I make a motion with my finger and the hole fills up and disappears.

I smirk as I glance at the guards, who are staring at me in disbelief. One by one, the guards bow to me. I look at them strangely.

"Can someone please show me the way out? I want to figure out who I am without shackles to tie me down. " I explain with a gentle smile.

The man who helped me motions for me to follow him. I follow the guard as we walk past everything. I look as we head towards what I think will be the gate. We walk to the gate in silence. At the gate, the guard pulls a key from his pocket. The guard puts the black key into the gate. He turns the key, and the gate quickly opens up.

"Return to your territory, for the law of the Midnight Kingdom has made the land you were on yours. I believe I will see you again. Go practice your magic! You will become great one day. I can see it. This is not goodbye as I know we will see each other again. See you soon Mr. Knight!" The guard says, as he walks away from me. I watch for a second as he slams the gate shut.
