As the knives flew toward me, I noticed that they had the Strychnine poison on their sharp edges. This meant I couldn't use my only martial skill to resist the attack. As the knives got closer, three ice shards came out of nowhere and intercepted the attack. Thank you, Emilia.

"Zephyr, you okay?" Emilia asked.

"Yea, thanks!" I said.

"I hold Zoe and Jonas for a little while. Go for Lucas!" Emilia suggested. I realized that it was the best solution. Emilia was the strongest out of everyone here as she excelled in the mastery of magic and martial arts.

"As you say!" I agreed. She headed over to confront those two while I went toward Lucas.

"Seems like you're quite confident in your abilities, even daring to challenge me." Lucas bragged. His beasts were indeed powerful, but magic is also scaled according to your cultivation level so he couldn't summon powerful creatures yet. I ran faster.

"COURTING DEATH!" Lucas yelled. I ran over and prepared to charge a martial skill I had learned from gramps called the Twin Dragon Fist, using the remaining Qi I had left. There were two types of energies called Mana and Qi. Qi was used in Martial Skills, and Mana was used in magic attacks. At the Basic Human Body Stage, Qi is used to break through different layers of the Stage. You will break through to the layer or the next stage if you have too much Qi, like a glass of water. Meditating can help you gather Qi as well as absorb it through objects.

I punched him with all the Qi I had stored. Lucas didn't even have the time to summon his creature before I punched him in the face. He fell backward, and I was sure I heard a bone crack on his face, and most of his teeth had also fallen out. So much for threatening me about death.
