Little soldier

He heard a knock on his door and as it opened he saw General Cross.

"kid you're finally awake," he said and order a soldier to bring him the nutritional drink. Despite his cold demeanor he didn't appear scary or intimidating as Seven expected, or maybe he the man just didn't want to traumatize him, so he deliberately lowered his aura.

"Where am I? who are you?" Seven asked, when he observed his surroundings it didn't look like a hospital. The room was small and only a bed was there.

"you are in the 2nd army battalion, my name is Hendrix Cross. I'm the General of this brigade" his answers were concise and straightforward, he sat on the edge of the bed and stared at Seven for a long time before asking.

"do you remember what happened?"

"I do" he answered and lowered his head.

"no need to feel scared, that man was a pirate, heck we should even thank you for making our job easier," he said as he ruffled Seven's hair.

Seven wasn't scared though, he was just thinking of what he should do next. His aunt should be dead by now and there is a high chance that he'll be sent to an orphanage since he didn't have any relatives. Though there was still his unknown father, he didn't want to contact him. Considering how 5 years have passed, his father must be either dead, have his own family, or never really care about his existence. He didn't care about him so Seven wasn't sad about it.

"then since I help you can I make a request" he bravely said. It was now or never.

"Oh. What is it" he answered seemingly intrigued and interested by his sudden request.

"I want to join your army"

Cross looked at him shocked and confused, he was not expecting such requests from a child.

"Why? "he questions the little fellow who was looking at him seriously.

" I don't have any relatives left, my mom passed away, my dad has been missing in action since I was born and now my aunt is dead. There's a possibility that my dad is still alive but I don't want to contact him. I also don't want to stay in the orphanage. That's why I'll join the army so the empire can't put me in those places. "his lengthy explanation causes Cross' eyebrows to raise. He was speechless hearing his reason.

"you can still think of adoption. We can make sure your new family will treat you well." Cross suggested, he didn't know why Seven was so reluctant to trust others.

" no! I can't accept that. I don't want to put my years repaying someone just because they raise me." Seven knows his future was bound to be successful. So he can't be tied to nonblood-related people, wherein his actions are limited.

" you know staying in the army is difficult. The moment you enter here you're no longer a normal civilian. You have to follow the rules and prove your worth. Even if you cry, no one will dry your tears. You'll have no time to enjoy what normal kids your age do. You have to wake up early and train, follow those higher in rank than you no matter how ridiculous it was. So I'm asking if you are willing to enter despite knowing this. "he explained not hiding the dark side of the military. He wasn't trying to scare anyone but is merely telling the truth.

" I know, I wouldn't suggest entering the army if I wasn't ready," he said and looked up, his eyes showed no hint of fear. Seven already experienced danger in his past life, it was no different this time. He was confident that he'll get by just fine. I mean he was able to survive Cerbrus who don't consider him human.

Cross sighed and shook his head, he was not planning on accepting a child in his fleet, but before he could decline Seven stop him.

"Don't reject me just yet General, I might be a child but I know my capabilities and talents. You also saw earlier how I was able to beat a star Pirate 4 times as older as I am. My powers aren't something I can easily control, you should know this after all you experience it first hand. The empire's law doesn't stipulate a ban on children entering the military, well I guess they didn't have to after all parents wouldn't send their children into the military at such an early stage" What seven said also made sense, with his power, the people around him may not be able to control it. Instead of helping him, this might in danger other people.

Seven was familiar with the empire's laws including the star alliance, it was something he stumbled upon when he was four when he was looking for ways to report his aunt when he turns 18. So he used these loopholes to his advantage to convince General Cross. So they can't stop him from entering and can only delay it.

"damn" it was the only word Cross could utter, he knew Seven was smart just from how he handled himself in front of him but didn't expect him to be this 'smart'. The empire's laws had thousands written on them and it wasn't something you can easily understand.

"there's no stopping you isn't it!!" he sighs, he didn't want to employ a child in the army.

It was difficult being here, even adults would think twice before entering here. This army is a dangerous place, especially for someone who doesn't have a family background that could help them.

He knew this fact since he himself experienced it. He was from a declining marquise family and if it weren't for him awakening a 2S physique, an S mental physic partnered with his dual ice and plant ability then their family would be taken advantage of by the nobles. Even the son of a mere baron would torment him during his trainee days. Sadly before he could make his mother proud she passed away. Now he is all alone.

He looked at Seven and remembered his statistical results. If he didn't know that the result came from a child then he would not reject such a good seedling.

Seven results shocked the whole result facility so that even the eccentric genius doctor came out of his den just to meet Seven. He even mocked the nobles for claiming that their children are rare genius.

Seven is said to be a once-in-every-ten-thousand genius that he even surpasses Marshall Wimbroase's child who was known for having a 3S physique and 2S mental power. While at the same time, a triple system ability user is still unknown what they are.

Clenching his fist, Cross made the most difficult choice in his life. He looked at Seven for a while, seeing his clear unwavering eyes, he couldn't see a trace of fear on those very weird for a child. But he disregards such thoughts, Seven, a child who was neglected by his aunt was able to survive, his attitude and actions were bound to not be normal, so it was better to treat him like an adult.

'This child will surely cause huge changes in the future'

"very well, I'll allow your entry. Just so you know we will not be soft just because you are a child"

"I understand," he said and straightened his back.

" recuperate for now and take the time to rest after all you'll need all the energy you got to survive here," he said and walk towards the door he stop, and said.

"Welcome to the 2nd army little soldier" with that he left, leaving Seven shocked for a minute.

He laid back on his bed and stare at the white ceiling. Never in his life would he think that he would become a soldier, life was odd. The first time he was a criminal but experience a huge reversal and now he's going to be a soldier. He sighs, either way, whether the first or the second life becoming a singer was like a pipe dream.

Feeling tired, he closed his eyes waiting for him to enter the dreamland, but just a minute pass the door burst open and a young man appear.

"you're awake, you're finally awake! " he exclaimed hysterically. The man had thick glasses and was wearing a lab gown, his long white hair was disheveled.

'Who is this madman?'
