Ares

Seven together with other kids who were at the age of 5 were waiting for their music instructor. It has been a week since they started training and 2 kids died from their batch due to exhaustion.

The scary part of it was their instructor weren't even bothered by it. Of course, they were all kids, but kids like them didn't have the privilege to complain to their parents. They were already abandoned and only through persevering can they survive.

As for his parents, his mother only left a letter indicating that his name was Seven, and just like the lucky number, she wish for him to be lucky in his new family. She could not take care of him and hoped a more well-off family could adopt him.

He scoff at the thought of his mother, if she truly wished for him to be lucky, she shouldn't have abandoned him here in the first place.

The door opened and a beautiful young man around the age of 18 walked inside. The man in front of them wasn't like their previous instructor who was muscular and burly. Had scars and had tanned skin. Instead, he was delicate and sickly, his skin was pale and his eyes were soft.

This man was Ares which for Seven sounded ironic considering how he does not resemble the God of War Ares. But when they heard Ares was the son of the Cerbrus' boss, they immediately froze up. They were afraid of angering him. Rich people have always been fickle, just a slight annoyance can ruin you for life.

However, Ares wasn't like his father, he was kind and taught them everything he knew. He would bring food and clothes whenever he had free time. Seven was vigilant and didn't trust him at first. He couldn't believe that a son of a syndicate leader have such a personality. But as years passed he remains the same and Seven who has once hostile became friends with him.

As their friendship grew, he learned more about Ares. He was the youngest son among 5 siblings. He was different from his brothers, they, like his father were strong, cunning, and evil while he was sickly since birth.

Growing up he knew their family was doing illegal business and was trafficking children. He wanted to help but the moment he tried to contact the police, the man turn out to be an accomplice. It was a good thing that he didn't use his real identity or else his father would lock him.

At the age of 8, Seven, for the first time heard Ares sing. His voice was beautiful, making those who listened stop for a moment and just be fascinated by the soft melodies.

Seven saw Ares be immersed in the rhythm of the sound, his eyes showed a layer of happiness. He looked free and unbothered by mundane things.

But the moment he finished sadness replace his eyes. In reality, he wasn't free, he was a canary chained and lock in a small cage.

Ares dreamt of becoming a singer, this aspiration was a thing he and his late mother shared. Sadly for him, his father didn't agree. From time to time Seven would hear Ares sing, and when he does Seven would be there admiring him.

2 years passed and Seven turned 10, Ares who was still as beautiful as he can remember, ask him what his dream was.

"I don't know... But I do like listening to the song, maybe if I were to choose I'll go with singing" he answered shyly. To be more precise he wanted to listen to Ares. Ares ruffle his hair and laughed at his shy look.

"I think you have a talent for it Seven"

"you think so... Then if I want to become one will you help me"

"of course"

Since then, Seven had planned to put more effort into arts especially singing so during the selection he will be assigned to the entertainment group. This way he can spend more time with Ares.

The day of the selection came with the horrible death match that happened. The previous boss died and the one replacing him was his oldest son who killed all his enemies including some of his relatives. His younger brothers went overseas to hide while Ares remain locked up inside his cage. His brother refused to let him go. He only found out about it after he was relieved from his punishment.

He didn't get to be a singer like he and Ares had thought. Instead, he became a heartless murderer.

By the time he turn 17, he found out Ares committed suicide. His brother the current boss of Cerbrus, Eros, wanted to take him as his partner. Of course, Ares refused knowing they were brothers, but Eros admitted that they weren't blood-related so it was possible for them.

Ares still refuses his advances, and driven by his anger, Eros violated and raped Ares. Afterward, he was locked up in Eros' house with no one to talk to.

The poor canary was completely shut out from the world. Left would no other things to do, he put all his time into singing and writing song ignoring Eros. Eros was possessive, he wanted his attention all to himself so he forbid Ares from his passion.

Ares who lost everything become mad, he could no longer hold onto this world and so he decided to leave it. Living has become a nightmare that he would rather die in order to wake up from it.

Everything becomes a mess when they found him hanging in his bedroom one morning.

Seven wanted to see him for the last time, but Eros was a jealous man, he keep the corpse while preserving it perfectly in his house and officially married Ares. It sounded so sick whenever Seven remembers it. How come even tell death, Ares was still chained in this world.

Seven almost lost his self-control knowing this. He wanted to kill Eros, but he knew he couldn't, if he were to die how will he fulfill his promise.

It was already 9 in the morning when Seven woke up. He rubbed his temple as he remembered his past once again. It has been a long time since he dreamed of him.

Looking back it wasn't his wish to become a singer, he just subconsciously thought of it because of Ares. He wanted his time and attention, but by the time he realized his feelings, it was already too late. The man had already drifted away, never to be seen again.

This becomes his reason to destroy the organization that Eros rules. But it was useless since Eros already lost his motivation, the man would rather spend his time watching the glass coffin, wherein he can see Ares.

Without Eros to lead the organization, he easily took all the evidence and passed them to the authorities. He then changed his identity and was planning to enlist in a music school where Ares wanted to go. Just when he was about to fulfill this dream, he was hunted by his colleagues and died in that world.

Now here he is 5 years later, wanting to achieve his goal was once again blocked.
