I like this story a lot I just feel like it progresses too slowly. Grim who is also Glen takes forever to go from an apprentice to a level one sorcery and then takes forever to go from a level 1 sorcerer to a level two sorcerer. I'm literally almost 500 chapters in and all he has become at that point is a super-strong bottom of the food chain level 2 sorcerer. I get that they are trying to make the story more expansive but I would at least like some progress in the characters besides him deciding to go to prison for a century that would have died in a few years anyway. The entire plotline where he decided to go to prison for his love wasn't development it was stupid. It wasn't a mistake anyone after living 300 years or so should make. Overall the story is so slow-paced that I wonder if it is ever going to finish. the main character is probably going to 2700 chapters to get anywhere and that's being generous. if they decided to really get stuck at a certain power level it could take 3000 to 3600 chapters. Sorry that just too long a commitment for me.

Here's the backstory behind why the author killed off Lefay. Rumours had it that the author, who was attending college at the time of writing this novel, had modelled the character "Lefay" after his highschool sweetheart. We don't know if she was his girlfriend or a girl that he had a one-sided crush on. One day, he had received news of her wedding during a class in session. He got so depressed that he killed off Lefay because if he could never have her in real life then his persona/avatar in his own novel should never have her too. And yes, if you read the RAW, the ending reveals that Grimm is actually the author himself. "A Sorcerer's Journey" was his own "Grimm's Fairy Tale".

Then I suggest you don't touch another novel of the same genre named Warlock Apprentice. It took the bastard over 1600 chapters to become an official wizard.

Yup. I avoided that haha. Way of Choices (Ze Tian Ji) is another novel I avoided for it's slow pace. I prefer novels like Warlock of the Magus World or Lord of the Mysteries. If you have any to recommend please share đŸ„ș

I am Chinese, level 1 is the slowest, and then quickly reached level 3, and advanced to level 4 by breaking through the limit. After level 4, I participated in the civilized war. At the peak of level 5, I was forced to flee and travel in the unreal world It took 60,000 years to reach the peak of level 6 and return to the wizarding world. After coming back, it was a long journey to advance to level 7, the double dedication rule. Ultimately crush all the kings of the wizarding world and become the king of wizards!
