First of all, I love the MC, I like villains, or dark characters, the fact that we discover more about him through dialogue than through static descriptions is a good point in favor of the novel. The relationship with the system is at least different, normally the AI or the systems tend to be more in the background, in this case he is almost as relevant a character as the protagonist, it gives fluidity. Likewise, at some points the level of interactions between them is very high and you can lose the thread a bit, especially in long chapters.
