There is character development, but it's more like a transformation rather than a traditional development. In the beginning, you will find that he is more like a friendly monster. However, when he acquires the new skill, Mimic, his personality undergoes a significant change. Why does it change? I've also written about this.

Do you want to listen my heartly opinion ? I do not know, I have trauma regarding romance IRL, my novel is fantasy but Romance for me fantasy too IRL. I do not know, I hate it somehow I found it fantasy too IRL. You know it is very good to read it in novels, manga, watch it in Anime but IRL it just a pain, so much pain... you will get pain and world shall know pain in romance.

ngl, novels without harem,romance and systems tend to be interesting in my case. The author might be more creative because it does away with the usual cliches. I respect author's who have the courage to go against the norm especially on this platform.
