As of chapter 240, there has only been a few chapters related to crafting. Most crafting related stuff is glanced over with minimal information on what's going on.To me the mechanic class is more about crafting but this story in my opinion is mostly just drama.

True. To me i’m still on chapter 70 and mc is still finding place to eat with not much money left. MC so weak ass with a system that can help him upgrade but no Mc is stuck with so many drama plots that it has taken so many chapters to get it over with. First is the trust issues with a woman that has taken how many goddamn chapters to end. And now there is this another woman that has fallen out of nowhere and blackmail the MC to help her. So yeah instead of powering up. Author wants to add some spice and drama to prolong the novel

You'll need to understand that to craft, the character himself must have the resources. And since you have read that far, then you should have known that the Main Character is practically all alone with little to zero resources to even be able to craft much. As for the minimal information, I'm sure I have provided enough details regarding the Claymore Mines which was somewhat pivotal to the storyline and that was the only thing the Main Character was crafting on. The story is about a mechanic, but if you expect someone to magically have resources just thrown at them, allowing them to craft with ease, then you're reading the wrong novel. This is a somewhat realistic scenario of how a mechanic will struggle because there are no free lunch in this world. No one would be willing to offer the Main Character any materials to craft unless he work hard for it.

Haven’t read yet but wouldn’t a junkyard adventure mini arc solve that problem?

wouldn't be plausible if you have read the condition and state that he was in. Mini Spoiler ahead, so read at your own risk. He awakened approximately 132 years later, so even if there were any junkyards, it's probably looted already (additionally, the main character has next to zero knowledge of the current state of the world. If you watched Avatar: The Last Air Bender, then you would know what I mean.)
