There's nothing really new or interesting about this novel. If I were to sum this novel up in 1 word then it would be boring. There are a lot of timeskip so nothing feels meaningful. Like, what's the point of the mc going out to explore if he can just afk for a time skip and power up? The mc in this novel never encounters anything life-threatening in 200 chapters. What's more, he has a protagonist-like Dao companion who is as op as the mc. Also, the system always conveniently gives the mc the perfect mission at the right time. He learns all these skills but the author never really gets into it. Don't expect a low-key mc but he doesn't go around faceslapping everyone. There's pretty much no plot at all. The only closest thing we've gotten to a plot was the beast tide that happens every 200 years but suddenly got shortened to 100 years for no reason. Pretty much everything is just filler to the mc becoming stronger. If there was a plot it'd be mc goes into seclusion --> powers up and uses all the resources --> goes to trade or "explore" for resources --> mob villain greeds for mc's resources and dies --> mob villain conveniently has what the mc needs --> mc goes back into seclusion --> repeat. That's pretty much a vague summary of every arc. Also the mc and characters in the novel are pretty boring. There's nothing unique or interesting about them. There's just no character development in over 200 chapters. Overall, this novel is painful to read but if you have nothing to read then it's bearable. Just don't get your hopes up for any exciting fights or satisfying power-ups.
