Another of these copy pasta, as I call them, "written simulations" novels. This genre is really bad, not only do we have these bad authors writing these, but the written simulation thingy is much more boring and disappointing than sign in and other things.

A well done story of this genre can have potential, but they usually run into the problem of: A) If its a short term simulation (like this novel), the simulations become very repetitive and become plot armor, letting the MC always get the perfect powerup at the perfect time; or B) If it's a long term simulation (Like Fantasy Simulator or Astral Apostle), it quickly becomes more of a collection of short stories rather than a cohesive novel, where readers usually love one particular simulation world and hate the real world or hate the simulations and only want the real world. I do think it would be interesting though to see an author write a good version of this genre without these pitfalls

Another case was Pet Simulator. The author put in a lot of effort and a lot of creativity for most of the novel but apparently it was too much for him to continue, so he ended it all of a sudden when mc's beasts were still at the 3rd rank. Of course that author also ended the novel before that early (unable to cultivate, so I can only raise soul pets) so he'll probably do it more in the future. He's a great writer, too bad he screws over the readers
