There are % mentions - I wonder if MC was taught percentage calculations while in slums. His wound was 90% healed, instead of "mostly healed". There is someone described as "experienced scavenger" - braindead dude provoking someone he first meets in a dangerous forbidden area, later he gets injured due to his "experience" and keeps yelling to attract attention and put everyone in danger. If he was "experienced", he would, for example, manipulate others into doing what he did while keeping a safe distance and observing. There is a murderer kid - the MC. He didn't need to murder a guy as they would soon split ways, and he had someone kinda watching over him, but he just did take his life ,,to be sure danger is removed". Then there are some other kids - 3 boys and a girl. The 3 boys are of course described more as villains and death flags are raised for them by the author, while the girl is described as poor, pitiful oh ah. Villanizing men and justifing women. And that's what happens soon - MC already simping her up, he attracts attention and puts himself in danger for this girl he just met and doesn't even know name of. And this makes no sense: he just murdered a guy he just met to be sure to be safe, but here.. he places himself in danger for some girl he just met. Hence the follow up explanation; he put himself in danger and saved the girl for snake meat. [img=faceslap] And because it's er gen novel the rest is very predictable. He keeps meeting her ,,coincidentially" due to forced plot. If you want some more realistic MC-girl interactions where MC saves a girl, there's e.g. "With a Crippled Spiritual Core, I Become the Boss of Cultivation World". Also, MC didn't need to follow that guy. He was not forced to or anything. He just went there so that the author could fill the chapters with this scavenger arc. And soon he murders some more, because they took his pills. The author's seems like some psychopath who would murder you if you tried to be a bully and stole his can of coca cola. Also 7 chapters split into 14 from what I see @ qidian. Too overhyped. Quite unoriginal. Average. There are better novels these days

I will admit, the first time he killed it was quite ruthless and a tad cliche/forced. I will, however, argue that he did not put himself in danger for the girl, he took on the challenge because it was the strongest beast, he knew he could face it, wanted to prove himself, and wanted the snake's meat. *Spoilers ahead* Also, the later murder is much more well-justified, as there was actual reason to be worried about. They were 100% a threat to him as they were on an enemy team. Killed him so the guys wouldn't try to kill him later. Which they would have. If he didn't kill him, they would have participated in the attempt on killing his entire team in the forest in the later days. A fight they barely won and could have arguably lost if he didn't kill those two dudes before hand.
