I simply can’t enjoy the story with how much angst the MC is drowning in, I understand that the author intends to have him get over it eventually but it’s already been too long for me. Simply can’t stand this guy wallowing in self pity it’s so pathetic it detracts from everything else. The plot is entirely based around the MCs angst and how horrible his life is and all his self pity but little to no substance otherwise. Just not for me, and by no means is the writing bad, I’m just a perfect example of toxic masculinity because I can’t stand the weakness of the MC and it really angers me that he’s so stuck wallowing in self pity that he can’t seem to see all the amazing benefits and opportunities he’s been granted as if his situation wasn’t something people would do anything for
