100% building his skillset, along with taekwondo, and more down the line! Glad you're enjoying that part, earning skills through hard work is more fun than a system lottery IMO. But I will say this - there's more to cinema than just Marvel and DC, They're inescapable to an extent, but they certainly aren't the end all be all of the box office.
