lacking in most areas, i had to force myself to keep reading past chapter 2. there are the odd mentions od sciency things but they are hand waved away and ignored. the characters don't act in any sort of believable way. the main character is told his whole family is dead and he's been a brain in a jar for 6 months and his reaction boils down to "okay"

LIKELol. This dude probably reads with his eyes closed. The author describes modern technology in vivid detail in the first two chapters. But there's no time to go into more exposition about their working principles. They are being attacked by machines! And the main character's reaction to all the shocking news wasn't, "okay." Seems like this guy isn't even reading. Every person deals with grief differently. Some bottle it up and some wail. The MC develops a whole mental disorder because he does not undergo a catharsis. But no, you're too resentful and full of yourself to even read that far. Better stick to those cheap Cultivation fantasies. Sci-fi ain't for you boy.
Author, got a question for you. This novel got the #Righteous tag which honestly is the only reason why I’m holding myself back from reading it… so would you mind telling me on what line that "Righteousness" operates? Since I have very bad experience with "that", Y’know what I mean…?
Ashdenroth:Really sorry to hear that. I did not know the science things would go over some people's heads, and they would need to be spoonfed explanations like kids. My apologies. Thank you for the review. Perhaps what you're looking for is a science textbook instead.
Well, the novel is set in a dystopian world with a twisted sense of morality. The righteousness lies with the MC. The male protagonist tries to do the right thing even if it endangers his life. That's kind of the only reason for that tag being added. By righteousness, I do not mean any religious sense of right and wrong. It's just my protagonist's individual sense of morality. He tries to do the right thing even when people misinterpret his actions. However, he is not blinded by his righteousness. Let's just say he can cross some lines to protect the ones he cares about. Hope I've been able to explain it. Thank you for the question.
