Hihi! Thank you very much for reaching out, I am attempting to finish the novel by the end of the year or latest, the first quarter of next year. As for Chinese palace dramas, I used a combination of time periods so it's quite difficult to watch just one and get a good feel for the costumes etc. I'd say a lot of the palace decor would look Qing (but not the seats LOL I gave them like...seating popular all the way back in the Qin Dynasty just because I like the aesthetic xD). The two big A-list dramas I can think of that might give a good idea of the Qing Dynasty would be Legend of Zhenhuan and Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace. These are super popular so I'm not sure if you've watched! As for the Qin Dynasty (which influenced some of the kingdom's founding history but not integral to the novel...and also influenced...the chairs...LOL) there's pre-Qin Warring States drama called Miyue Zhuan (I don't know what the English name is sorry). All three are by the same director and I'm recommending them solely because the budget is AMAZING so everything is nice and visual (: As for banquets and costumes for eunuchs/brocade guard, I'll have to dig around to find some old Tang, Han, Ming Dynasty dramas that I used to like <3 Please let me know if I can help in any other way and thank you for the support!
