So, the husband should have nine wives due to the fact that 18 months is the normal rest time before becoming pregnant again. All of this assumes that there are no twins, because a natural twin being born is around 1 / 250.

Using the 1/250 chance to estimate for a twin being born each time is inaccurate. That only applies on the scape of an entire population, not an individual. Having twins is something that is genetic. A twin is much more likely to have kids that are twins. If you already had twins, then your genetics are likely ones that make it more likely for you to have even more as well. The most kids one woman had on record given birth to is 69, and that was sixteen twins, seven triplets, and four quadruplets over a span of 40 years. She had no single children.
