I think it was something mentioned before. He doesn't want to be a hero. He's not a villain, but he is too lazy to go around saving people. Gwen, on the other hand, is obviously someone with a heroic mindset. I'm guessing he is worried it would hurt their relationship if she wants him to help more people, while he prefers to just sit back.

But Rai just waved his hand and continued: "Of course, I don't know him, I've been at home."

That's litterally everyone, from every country. Americans are probably the worst offenders of being ignorant of their racism out of everyone. Not the racism against skin color, we all know that one, but racism against everyone else.

I just left a review, and noticed yours beneath mine. I fully agree with what you said, and it's basically what I said myself. Only thing you might have wanted to mention is that the translation is in split chapters, so it hasn't gotten there yet.

A heads-up before my review, I only read a fair amount of the translation. Most of it was in the raws. The reason for my low score is due to quality drop in the untranslated portion. An important note is that the translator is splitting up chapters, as seems to be common on WebNovel nowadays. So expect the chapter count of anything I mention to be at least double in the translation. The story starts off fairly slow and uncreative. However, as more characters are introduced, and they start new simulations, the story improves a lot. It's fairly interesting to see how the characters change the timeline, as well as how their actions influence each other. There is a downside to this though, as the author likes to repeat a lot of the things that happened on previous attempts. It's obviously just padding/filler. He also drags on when talking about the rewards characters get for completing the simulations. At this point, I'd still give the novel a good ol' 4 stars (which is a good score). Unfortunately, after around 210 chapters (raw), the author suddenly had what appears to be writer's block. For a while, I thought he dropped the novel entirely, but he just released chapters sparsely. It would have been better if he went on hiatus. I got to a little over 240 chapters before giving up. It was over 30 (non-split up) chapters of tens of thousands of year time skips in the simulation with no explanations of any story events going on, rewards are exaggerated, presented in a troll-like way, and outright skipped, and basically everything in the real world is people being amazed at the various characters group. This isn't an exaggeration like people like to do about cultivation novels. This is LITERALLY ALL that happens during those 30 chapters. Absolutely nothing about the simulation world is explained in that time, just literally "several thousand years later, she broke through. Several thousand more years later, she was surrounded and killed". No names are even mentioned in the simulation aside from their real names. Rewards say things like, "an insane, insane, insane amount of spirit stones. Amounts beyond all belief. Amounts that would make an entire city of people satisfied for generations. A city, do you know just how much that is!?" In the real world, nobody past Nascent Soul has been seen or heard of, so once everyone reaches those levels, along with their rewards, there is no threat. The author doesn't bother to introduce any either, so nobody dares to do anything aside from marvel at their growth. Even worse, it doesn't seem like this would change anytime soon. It deserves absolutely only 1 star at that point. So giving this story 3.0 for a good first arc seems more than fair. Maybe even a little generous for people who prefer ratings to represent the entire novel.

No, there are bigger problems with this. If he was simply a servant who wanted to support her, it would be fine. The problem is they are close friends and will probably become lovers. Realistically, something like this would toxic for a relationship. The reason loaning money to close ones is considered a terrible idea is because it creates a power structure between the two. Even if you don't mind not being paid back, if the other person has any consciousness, they will feel eithr guilty about it, oe obligated to pay back. What more a literal seal to ensure loyalty. No matter what their relationship is in the future, he cannot be maliwagainst him. In a way, this makes him like a machine. Even if she doesn't intend to abuse it, the knowledge alone will screw with you. I wouldn't even like it if she also took the seal in regards to him. It would create a toxic relationship where they could continue living as they wish without trying to fix issues that would arise between them, and that would build up. Basically, it's terrible for any kind of friendship or romance.

Kushina, as things are... you need an aide. Someone you can trust beyond belief. Never be deluded by the sense of security in the village but also... I don't wish for you to feel paranoid. Kai, I will form a seal if you accept it, nothing will happen except for the fact that you will never be able to think maliciously against Kushina or act against her."

Actually, one of the things that annoys me the most is howmost harem novels have a beta MC. They basically always simp over their women and are trampled all over by them. And being a simp is the epitome of a beta character. I'm not opposed to harems btw, they actually made up the majority of the novels I read (just because they generally make romance a more major aspect of the novels, even if poorly done) . I just hate how most of them seem to be written by masochists.

Although somewhat close, I disagree with your definition of Beta. That little difference is enough to give a complete opposite view on Beta/Alpha though. An Alpha is someone who is dominant and proactive. A Beta is someone who is submissive and reactive. "Dominant/submissive" in this case is purely referring to ones interactions with others. It's basically if you are focusing more on what others want or what you want. So, the MC avoiding some girl because he knows she is trouble is not being submissive. Rather, if he is willing to help a random girl just because she looks sad, despite knowing it might kill him (aside from being idiotic), is actually him being submissive to others. In fact, I don't understand how you can't see that that sounds completely like a simp. Reactive/proactive also does not refer to jumping head first into everything. Instead, it refers to who is controlling the direction of your life. If you make plans for the future for yourself, that's being proactive. If all your actions are due to events happening around you, that's reactive. The reason everyone hates it is because it gives the MC no agency. They just feel like a doll being pulled along by the world. Of course, being purely proactive is unrealistic and boring, as it implies the world has no influence on you and doesn't matter at all. So while the MC here is reacting to the system options, that's normal. He has his own plans, and he even finds ways to do the things he wants without the system constantly giving him options. Anyway, just the MC not bowing under the skirt of every crying or complaining girl makes him more alpha than 99.999% of mem in all the novels on WebNovel.

My senior brother is too steady has two hirls in the harem. Although two others like him, it's made fairly apparent that it's not really love, but more like admiration. They stay close to him, but ai do believe he rejects them. The love interest other than the junior sister is basically an arranged relationship by some of the higher ups, to get him more involved. She actually suits the MC more than the junior sister in terms of personality and he likes her beforehand, but avoids her because of all the trouble he knows it would bring. ie. She would never abandon those close to her, but they are all destined to have bad ends in Journey to the West. She also understands that she kinda got in the middle of the MC's and the junior sisters relationship, so she treats the junior sister well to try to make up for it. All in all, I'd say the only real flaw to that novel is the ever decreasing quality of the translation. Expect constant gender mixups, including martial aunts being called martial uncles and sisters called brothers, from relatively early on. Plus, as the story gets more and more complex, the translators clearly fail in getting a lot of the meaning across.

If that was a one time thing, sure. If the slave traders are constantly lookimg for them, then no. Someone skilled is bound to run into them catching the Xenos sooner or later. I haven't read the novel though, so I have no clue if this was a one time thing or not.

The problem is creating a situation for that to happen...

Actually, many modern nukes are actually LESS radioactive as they are designed to be more precise. In fact, at least publicly, the largest nukes have basically been disassembled. Also, it's the radioactive material in nuclear power plants that causes long lasting radiation. Whether it is a modern nuke, or an old one, they aren't going to magically change the half life of particles in the air. Without something continuously releasing radiation, the radiation in the air will still dissapate relatively quickly. Of course, there is an exception. That is the so called "salted bombs." These are hypothetical as no one has publicly admited to making them and there has only ever been like one (failed) test that is publicly known. Those add extra materials (cobalt I believe) to the nuke that would cause it to become radioactive material that would basically ruin land for an extremely long time. No one admits to building such a thing for obvious reasons. It's clearly not something designed for war, but more for genocide.

That would still be a no go. Wouldn't make sense to use doomsday weapons to end a threat that might destroy the world only to have the world destroyed from the fallout of said doomsday weapons.

The only thing the Author's POV does better than TNE is keeping it's power system consistent and not having a harem with no chance of getting together with the MC. Otherwise, the two suffer from the same exact problems. At the same time, Author's POV tends to feel much cringier. I wish people weren't so obsessed with writing anti-hero MC's these days. And that leads me to my main question, is this novel one where the MC is one? It's literally the only thing preventing me from at least trying to read it. After all, if it really is plagiarism as many claim, he would definitely also get connected to the groups on the dark side.

I didn't mean you were bad, I was referring to you mentioning the "depending on how bad the author" part. I'd forgotten that part of math due to not actually needing it in everyday life, so thanks for reminding me! Though I'm sure I'll still never use it and forget again, like most people probably do. :)

Yep, honestly speaking though, any intelligent species would probably have those characteristics. They are natural ones for anything to fight for survival. Overcoming those natural desires is what seperates the good people from the bad.

Agreed, but it's also why it might be best to leave her out until Bell arrives. It would make it harder to believe Bell's progress if he doesn't have a supporter. He doesn't have an inventory after all. If Lili joins now, she'd probably be too far ahead of Bell by the time he arrives to make their joining together believable.

I would be glad to hear it, and let's be mature, no need to hate on Lili and Welf for now, if you don't like them, it's fine, but if you do like them, then that is fine as well.
