This is one of the most prominent examples of the writer being scared of making their main character powerful they just stick a hook up his nose and lobotomise him when decisions that affect his personal power and nothing else in the story are put in front of him. The writer also likes to make the mc a door mat 75% of the time so it’s an annoying slog to wade through. I’ve read into the chp400’s twice before writing this since I forgot why I dropped it, where he dies and and has his soul taken by a daedric prince and thrown around many scene changes like a rag doll since he committed assisted suicide. don’t read if you hate weak mc’s cause the writer can’t be creative.
