This novel leaves me in a dilemma. I want to enjoy it and binge dozens of chapters but I can't. Leonel, the main character, is written in such an odd manner that I can only read a few chapters a week without finding myself bored. The grammar and story development thus far is fantastic. No complaints there. That is why I'm so disappointed in the character design. It is literally the only thing holding this story back. The world background is nothing special but will likely be fleshed out in the future. Now, here is the issue. The author portrays Leonel as an intelligent, analytical young man which is done well. However, that is all Leonel is. He's an eighteen year old with literally no purpose in life besides Aina, his "soon to be girlfriend" who as of chapter 73, we know little to nothing about. Sure, the author wants to play into the whole mysterious and powerful family background cliche. Fine, that isn't an issue. The problem I have is that this supposedly highly intelligent eighteen year old is so fixated on a girl that he somehow loses all cognitive reasoning when he's with her. To make matters worse, Leonel has hardly even spoken to Aina! They know nothing about one another and yet he blindly follows her into a Zone. To top it all off, Leonel literally has no ambition. He genuinely has no drive to do just about anything. I mean, seriously? He's an eighteen year old who suddenly obtains superpowers and you mean to tell me all he wants to do is follow a girl around? It is absurd and one of the biggest flaws of the novel. It has gotten better within the past fifteen or so chapters but jeez. This intelligent main character has absolutely no plan or plans for the future? What a mess. Honestly, the people who refer to Leonel as a simp aren't incorrect. He follows Aina around like a dog in heat yet she has done nothing for him. Leonel even goes as far as to risk his life to save her when she goes berserk in a bout of stupidity. Plot armor kicks in, Leonel awakens, and they somehow survive. It is truly baffling and basically ruins this story in my opinion with how idiotic Leonel acts sometimes. Apologies for the scalding review. Just felt like I was obligated to give my honest personal opinion. This is a good novel yet it has some serious flaws that shouldn't be overlooked.

Hm. It seems Webnovel scrunched my review together which makes it appear as a giant wall of text :/. TLDR; Leonel is portrayed as being highly intelligent but he follows Aina around like a dog in heat despite the fact she has done NOTHING for him. Not to mention he's an eighteen year old who suddenly obtains superpowers and yet he still has absolutely no ambition or drive to improve. Everything he's done as of chapter 73 just feels forced by the author. Leonel has shown no real desire to do anything other than follow Aina around.
