An assassin or evil mc's whole point is that they are forces of evil that let go of their moral compass and advance towards their future unhindered by everything that made them chained. The author made his MC an assassin mc, I really felt that he was an assassin due to his calm and rational persona, until "Character Development" came along, Author made him attached to people, the same guy that was taught from a young age that you can't trust anyone but yourself trusting others? Author, this was pretty disappointing...Good Luck in your Fanfiction.

You're mostly right that's why, I just couldn't deal with it as I wanted to in the beginning or immerse myself into an assassin mindset because of my lack of experiences. Anyway I'll try to get back that assassin vibe later on.

Eh i don't see the problem, it is a second life after all so he'd want things to be different. And this site has way to many evil MCs imo.

ehm no most evil mc stories (fanfics) are trash and not completed (self-mockery included). The most would be anti-heroes i presume since nobody gives a f about heroes and well I've already explained about the villains one.
