Review Detail of Stabini in Card Apprentice Daily Log

I want to love this book. I really do but it makes it so hard. It has an interesting power system, nice characters and Im interested in where it goes. Yeah okay, the chapters are short which would be palatable if they were 'nutritious' but no, it's endless exposition, unnecessary detail of the cards, how they work, needless drama. Ffs, theres a fight that goes on for almost a 100 chapters and is shown/reshown from three different perspectives. There's world building, wordpadding and then there's shameless wordpadding, this novel walks the line straddling the latter reaching out but not quite. Honestly, this novel could be compressed to 2/3s or even 1/2 it's length and be all the better for it
