Yet another case of webnovel poaching novels already being translated by groups, renaming it, and trying to make a quick buck off coin sales when this story is already translated hundreds of chapters in and is free I might add... dont pay for this, it's a scam! Here's the most recent chapter by the guys who picked this up before these profiteers took it: systemtranslation(dot)com/my-doomsday-territory-chapter-216

You do you even realize that the previous group were the one who were doing it illegally. When Qidian brought the rights the author gets money which should be like the most important thing cause they don't make much money if the novel is not popular. I swear people like you just want free stuff and don't want to support neither author nor Webnovel.

It's pretty hard case... They use raws illegally and translate them to generate profits in form of ads revenue or donations. We read stolen goods and support thieves. Legal version comes and you need to pay for reading... and you are pretending that legal company is doing something wrong. They 'can' hire translators using raws illegally but they have no obligation or reason to do so. Experience? They have entire company of 'workers' doing this job for 1/10 of price. It's just convenient to pretend that they are evil corporations etc. Obviously, I don't deny this fact... however in this case we are evil parasites taking free stuff. Imagine yourself being a baker and someone just took your products without paying. You sell things in shop and thief comes to you to complain...

that might have been unacceptable for me if the people I linked were monetized however, these people do not ask for any money for this translation and do everything for free, nor do they lock hundreds of chapters behind a paywall of individually unlocking each chapter with a quarter of a dollar worth of coins each time in some cases when there's hundreds or even in some cases thousands of chapters locked I have to unlock individually adding up the cost in total to something like 60$ when I'd pay a fraction of that for a real book at a bookstore, maybe if these people were making actual bank off their fan translation without paying back the author you would be right in the case of this book however I'd always pick them over greedy quidan unless they would actually sell a physical copy at a reasonable price unlike their monetization scheme on this site.

glad to hear that you support pirating and hates the original author, because by supporting those sites this is what you are doing

this might seem like a weird question but do the original authors even get a cut of the profit when qidian translates their books? I haven't read their contract but I always inferred that qidian was the sole/main owner of the ip. Especially since I heard the contracts were pretty bad for creators.

also just saying webnovel also supports pirates. they don't do it themselves people just plagiarize another person's work from a different site like wattpad or scribblehub and put it here. Webnovel makes it premium and even if the original author asks for it to be taken down, they might not listen or must undergo a lengthy process included having to prove they are the original authors.

Obviously they get a cut. Might not be a great cut but it definitely exists. This is very common in the industry, and if the original authors don’t like it they can just choose not to sign the contract. If Qidian is posting translations then an agreement was made between them and the author; no matter what the terms were an agreement was made and it’s not our place to question it.

Bro, they got a patreon running with an offer that goes up to $500 a month. They definitely don’t do this stuff for free.
