I'm kinda disappointed with this novel. A seemingly important character was killed off within these 40 chapters. It's as if the author had some plans with it at the beginning n just killed him off cuz he didn't want to develop in that direction. Chances are that the author might kill off characters in similar ways in the future. So I really don't feel like continuing this novel right now.

tbh I'm glad the person died and hope more die in future. Most novels has the MC's friends, family etc survive way too much. And most times they get hurt and the MC just Nick of time saves them or goes to great lengths to get super rare item for cure. Much more boring then the people around MC dies, I'd even be fine with a novel ending with the MC's death
Fr. I don't like it either, but we aren't supposed to like it. The author having the balls to kill off characters usually means that they are very confident and is a sign of a good writer
