Review Detail of GnawingJackal in Ultimate Cypher (Marvel)

It's another bland SI story with the same usual problems. The MC uses the nebulous threat of the evil things the Big Bads of Marvel will get up to in the future to justify going around and stealing a whole bunch of super powers. The problem with that in terms of a good story-line is that bad luck never befalls this MC. This means that Cypher never has a challenging relationship, a threat to his life or any emotional hook at all to anything he does in the story. Add some bad luck and self-doubt.
