Really great read! Read up till chapter 60 and looking forward to reading more. No racism first of all. Second of all, protagonist is very intelligent and practical. He knows his limits and adapts perfectly to the prehistoric world while using his knowledge of the modern world to it's limits.

LIKEIt's not the diversity that offends people, but how the Chinese writers portray them - usually through a very ultra nationalistic and xenophobic lense. People of diversity are often written as villains, barbarians, or comically stereotyped by Chinese writers. That why I usually avoid reading any modern novels.
XinYuhao:To be fair, I really have no idea how you put diversity in a novel? Like if you don't mention skin ccolour, some readers will get ofoffended and if you do they still will..
SageCrow:yeah that's the reason I like fantasy novels... they can't possibly have racism

Daoist_Butterfly:I mean even some fantasy novels have racism when they're chjnese but I get what you mean.
Can't be help because its using real world as a template. And you know Chinese millennial that have access to internet since young can see how some media portray them, and for some racial toward Japan its based on their history that still fresh for them, so yeah if a modern novel have great premise some times I can ignore the racial stuff

It's not just Japan that's the subject of ridicule. Most times it depend on whatever country they have hostile relations at the moment. It could be America, India, France... I had to drop several modern novels because of the blatant racism..
