Daren isn't a name. It's a form of address like sir or lord. They're referring to their boss Shen.
To clarify this is referring Liu Bang, founder of the Han Dynasty. Liu Bang was known as a conman and used this story to trick his superstitious followers into believing he was a destined leader.
It's another copy paste CN novel as far as premise and setting goes. The writing quality as far as grammar goes is alright. I made it through 2 chapters and I just couldn't anymore. The MC is hypocritical and misogynistic. From the way it's written, I get the sense the author has had very little understanding or interactions with women in real life.
I have read a lot of novels and a lot of cliches, but it's rare I run into one that so dumb it hurts my head. Even when among other CN novels with system this one is just so special in how dumb it is. Even other novels had some kind of logic to the world they build and their character. Each character in this novel is flat, but also so absurdly stupid that the normal suspension of disbelief you would need for copy and past CN novels just can't bridge the gap.
The hu are an ethnic group of people to the north of China. The Chinese are just very xenophobic.
It's not the diversity that offends people, but how the Chinese writers portray them - usually through a very ultra nationalistic and xenophobic lense. People of diversity are often written as villains, barbarians, or comically stereotyped by Chinese writers. That why I usually avoid reading any modern novels.
