It's not like that. There was no spiritual energy or chakra in the MC's previous life, so his spiritual energy started to grow only after his reincarnation. By the way at that point in time Itachi is already almost 8y.o. and close to the Jonin level in the canon on this point and only lacks sharingan activation to truly reach it, there is a gap between him and MC. I spend a lot of efforts to make power levels right and realistic in my story, at this point I'm especially focusing on Chunin and Jonin levels as the great milestones for a shinobi with a great gap between them, level gap between Jonin and Elite Jonin will be even higher. For now MC has low-Chunin level in physical strength and high-Chunin level in spiritual energy, making him a solid mid-level Chunin. While Itachi right now almost on the Jonin level, the power difference between them is apparent and realistic in my opinion.

MC failed the ritual first, returned as Edo Tensei, performed the ritual again and become stronger than any Otsutsuki can dream of, the end. With all the build up tension during the whole story, that was a bit anticlimactic if you ask me.

Yea, I read that one, idea was good but the story was too long and stretched with almost no power growth of MC during the whole story except at the start with awakening tenseigan by insane luck, and the end during the ritual. And I don't plan to repeat something like that in my story.

Sorry, but I don't see where MC was rude to Kenta exactly, he was not friendly and avoiding contacts, but being rude - I just don't see it. On the other hand Kenta was not good either, as his friends insulted MC and he is just ignored the matter basically agreeing with his friends, and based on that interaction MC is childish and rude? I just don't understand the logic here, or maybe it's google translate distorts things...

Oh well, no one will left MC alone to his own devices for a month no matter what, so he likes it or not, but he have to go through the normal routine.
