Hello ! Most reasons are more hinted than directly stated, that might be why. Talking about everything would take a moment, but I can name the 2 main reasons. The first one would be that unplugging someone's life support because they couldn't pay is immoral. Healthcare providers who can let people die because they can't pay are a clear issue! The second main reason is that she is already 'cured'. It's been shown and told that her senses can be given back at the push of a button, yet despite the main character working full time and spending his paychecks on those bills, he can barely get her one sensory input back (hearing). Making healthcare into a 'subscription-based' program has a lot of problems coming with it, but those 2 reasons are a big part of his issue with them. Of course, there's a little more in-between the lines, but the other reasons are probably not as important
Just to manage expectations, there might eventually be such scenes, but- The main character isn't the edgy type to just start torturing people, he has a goal and would do anything to reach it so unless torture helps him reach his goal he probably won't be doing it (but he probably will eventually)
Malachim is an interesting novel. First, I would advise giving it a chance until chapter 4, the novel really starts there. It's an interesting premise and well-executed, Malachims, possessions, the church, it's all kind of simple to understand, while all those things clearly have more depth to them. One thing I had a hard time with is remembering Alley wasn't a girl LOL. I'll get used to the name... eventually! So far the novel has been set up properly, and we encountered interesting characters, and there's some foreshadowing for things to come, so it should be interesting to red. The pace feels slow at times, but the faster-paced scenes make up for it. I recommend :)
Yes, weird this went through
Some things just can't be stopped, you know, like a curse. Poor Li Yusheng, I hope he gets better
The novel is still getting vetted today, but I'll do my best to get at least one chapter out most days after the vetting process is over ! Hopefully they verify the novel today, but it could also take one more day
She made games as a career :)
Sorry if it feels rushed ! Did my best to make it feel natural but maybe I have failed at some points
Like an alchemist !
