Great story focusing mainly on romance in between ML and his love interest (captive, then fiancee, then wife). PLUS POINTS FOR CONSENT. Max is deeply in love with her but is still waiting for her to express her feelings without forcing her. This story is so heartwarming. The energy in their relationship is truly awesome, it adds to the whole experience. It's refreshing to witness a couple with such a deep yearning for each other's company. Valleria is everything a woman should be, not another pain he has to deal with as in some other novels I have red on this platform.

Just finished all 17 chapters in second volume and let me tell you, this story is so heartwarming. The attention to detail and the energy in their relationship were truly awesome. Valleria is everything a woman should be, she is loving, calm and supporting partner to her husband, not another pain he has to deal with as in some other novels. Sorry, kinda forgot to post updates. I just finished the first volume. The Mature parts in this novel are written very well. It's tasteful and spicy. Focusing a lot on her pleasure as Max is teaching her how to enjoy these things for the first time. I feel like this story is for everyone who is looking for medieval romance focused on the interaction in between Male lead and his chosen girl.

The old king is not really well described, you can tell he is a bit overweight, but by his actions, his nature and sadism are clear as a day. I was reading the end of "The eyes of a dying doe" and the "Kingslayer" all tensed. By the way, Valleria's reaction to the assalut was well written. 8.5/10

The pacing is so good. It's not rushed and thanks to short timeskips, the story walks around boring parts necessary for the believable plot. Example. He is holding her captive in his rooms, naturaly a few days is not enough to fill the time he needs to earn her trust, the one month timeskip makes perfect sense. We can see the character development, slow and steady. I feel hers is more visible thanks to the fact he is the one describing her as he is slowly getting to know her. The plot is good so far. The main lead is actually acting like an actual human being and not like a character written by a writer filled with naivity. Even when this fl is clearly the main love interest, she has an unique personality (you know, it's usually just a hole) which makes her more likeable.

I just found this novel and to be honest, I'm really excited to read more of this story. I'm going to post updates below this coment for the rest of you to help you decide if it's worthy.
