I disagree, in this situation all cards were stacked against tai lung, they already hated him and were looking for literally any reason to antagonize him. They were not going to give him a fair trial, or any fair judgement. The mc had to be full goody two shoes to even be tolerated with heavy caution, now he made a mistake do you really think they wouldn't go attacking him?

Honestly I love how hiruzen always stumbles and fumbles to victory, it's incredibly entertaining.

Maybe a quick tour of space, like the enel in canon, could let the crew get more powerful before getting back to the blue sea where everyone is after them. Idk tho I really want to see the chaos down there
