It wasn't inspired by anything, I wanted to find a realistic location for someone near the setting of Georgia in the Walking Dead would be from. But not exactly somewhere in Georgia the characters would be familiar with, to allow for credibility of the main character's story and abilities.

Thank you very much. As for saying if he was experimented on, that could open a whole new can of worms. Most people in the fic have no idea what makes people turn after they die, for all they know, a government conspiracy began the outbreak. In fact I think I even mentioned some characters muttered that the government was responsible for everything. So having Marcus say he was experimented on could just raise more questions even if it answers a few others. Such as "Who" experimented on him, and of course "Why?"

Obi-Wan was asleep. I realized this as I was writing the chapter, but I was going to explain later that he told Obi-Wan he locked up the vault with the key, hiding the Gamer power. But I will explain it.
