Their first exchange showed that Tentacruel had a slight stage advantage with its (high) silver stage compared to Ferrus' (mid) silver stage, but we did not let that deter us at all. Ferrus' fight went completely different than Borr's battle. Ferrus went up to Tentacruel and beat it up using close-range moves while dodging as well as blocking Tentacruel's tentacles and attacks. The fight took some time, and Ferrus did get hurt in the process, but he eventually managed to take Tentacruel down with a final Iron Tail on its forehead. In my opinion, 15-20k for a Feebas, 20-30k for a Clamperl, and 25-30k for a Shellder were a steal. Price aside, the two new evolution triggers were another reason I had a sudden interest in Clamperl, though I was not planning to ignore the Shellder and Feebas. What I did mostly "ignore" were the Magikarp even though they went for only 5-10k since I already had more than enough Magikarp in Utopia, though I still made sure to keep an eye out for any that stood out from the rest. - MrMichaelLaw20112mthCommented

As usual, it would also improve his potential, ensuring that he could keep growing stronger if he wanted to. I did not plan to prevent any of the guardians from training themselves to get stronger. They were free to do so while they did their job to guard the reserve, and I would even leave them some decent resources/supplements if that was what they wanted. Still, this was obviously only under the stipulation that they could not neglect their actual job. After that exchange, we talked for a few more minutes, mostly about areas where one might be able to find the three Pokemon he was interested in before I wished him a good day and left for my cabin. - MrMichaelLaw20113mthCommentedThankfully, there were other chances/places for them to battle such as the Combat Tower, the Battle Maison, the Desert Palace, and the one I was looking forward to the most, the Dragon Spire said to be staffed by the ancient draconid people/tribe. Each floor had a Dragon Tamer from the draconid tribe and it was said that the final floor master was as strong as Drake, the dragon master.
- MrMichaelLaw20113mthCommentedIt was a matter of tribe versus personal pride and the way I saw Bossbro, he would choose his tribe over his pride any day. Thankfully, things ended up going pretty much as I expected. I showed up at Bossbro's place and asked him how he was doing before introducing him to Alphabro, who persuaded him to join Utopia. Ultimately, I left for Viridian Forest with Bossbro and his whole tribe, which consisted of 11 Slowbro and roughly 340 Slowpoke.

Well, at least he got to enjoy the shocked reactions of the other elders whenever he shared something that Mikail had come up with or caused, like the last council meeting where he shared with them that a Legendary had apparently made contact with Mikail while the latter went to a beach to relax with his Pokemon. Their faces when they heard that said Legendary was Volcanion and that Volcanion had actually blessed Mikail's fire-variant Gyarados would always be one of his fondest memories. - MrMichaelLaw20113mthReplied to Azrail93

Still, comparing them to myself was not fair for them or anyone else for that matter, and I made sure not to mention anything like that to either of them. This would be my/our last trip. Once the 4-week long patrol was over, my ranger phase would end, concluding my practical year, though the official start of my journey would have to wait until the end of the 17th month, or rather the start of the 18th month due to bureaucracy stuff on the alliance side.
