I'd say, they can only see the POV from the main cast, not his. Only if he involves with the main cast, he'd appear. Like for an example, if the MC of a tv show orders his subordinates to do some miscellaneous work, like gathering information. The tv show wouldn't really show, how they do it. Only the report they give the MC, where they'd get screentime again.
