Other suggestion would be he can use his shadow like blackwhip from mha or make wings from his shadow by being a part of it. This one isn’t much as interesting as the teleportation one.

U can add smth like his own unique style of moving through shadows like the flying thunder god or smth like having a different dimension inside his shadow where he can store stuff like how ninjas use storage seals.

Hashirama's summon is most likely from the shikkotsu forest. Since, its not canon but Tsunade having the contract from there, makes it more believable for his sage mode to be from shikkotsu.
