Because without the combined function they would only be another weapon for them and while powerful, they are not even remotely unmatched by other weapons. And to add to that, the swords are designed to be used with the light/darkness element respectively and with all notable users of these elements being subordinate to either of the two they never had any worries. And lastly, it's not like they just left them right where they stood and instead left them somewhere they thought nobody would get them. This will come up later, so I won't say more about it now.

Because he designed it to be easily found, but only if one posesse both swords. As they never did, they never learned of this function.

What I mean with this is more in the sense of offering a different perspective from someone who didn't live all his live at the top of the power hierarchy

Mostly just his nature. Dragons in general, and Darganth especially so, are exetremely confident in their own power so don't really care how strong their partners are. Instead they care about how fun they are to be around as their long lives make boredom one of their greatest enemies.

Orders are subdivisions of the ranks, seperating each rank into three stages. Classes were originally just another word for ranks that I had added for variety, but I dropped it later on. Have now changed it in the chapters it was already used in to avoid confusion.

1. Him not minding that Allaire jokes about him is on purpose. It's supposed to be sort of a sign of affection, him not acting based on one of a dragons insticts out of his affection for her. 2. The lack of romance is mainly due to my writing skills concerning writing one. As for her not being likable, personal oppinion I guess. 3. While he could, even there the mana is less dense than on the central continent. Additionally he also has another reason to go there and so when a oportunity presented itself, he took it.

Yes, but only after going through the same process again, taking up another millenia or so.
Now that I think about it in detail I wonder whether my power grew even during my death. My power grew both times I did die previously, but my Soul was shattered this time, leading to my death lasting longer than a few days.
