It wasn't a mistake. The MC stopped reading at the line which showed him the evaluation. After that, he continued to read till the line which said that the rewards will be deposited into the inventory.

The MC is definitely not calm while facing the monster, but his actions were actually very desperate. I tried to portray this through the actions where he tries to use everything he could grab to inflict hurt upon the monster without giving a thought to the actual damage it was doing. Through the detailed description I wanted to show the amount of information the MC perceived every second and how he processes the objects that fall into his vision.
