@GuiltyThree MC is not a gay and I don't see a reason why it should change. He is attracted to women's beauty and that's cool. It would be even better if he didn't shy away from his thoughts as many male characters in novels, because we know that gaze and thoughts drawn to beauty, especially in his age, is natural. He could even bang someone along the journey as a certain witcher đ đ
Why Cassie has to choose Sunny over Changing Star? Because he is the main character? Changing Star saved Cassie countless times without expecting anything, just because she wanted to, while Sunny thought of Cassie as nothing more than a burden until much later. Every character here has its own well justified reason and Cassie choosing Nephis is understandable.
I think the author shouldn't be swayed by complains about 2nd volume's ending. It's a cruel fate, but I don't see a reason why MC should kill or even hate Cassie or Changing Star. Actually it's no biggie, given that there's no malicious intent from his Master and Cassie. But I think if Changing Star didn't explain him the effect of soul conduit and just lured him into the portal first under pretense of going right after him - it wouldn't be so sad.
Changes in MC personality are logical and understandable, people change and influence each other in many subtle ways, that's why MC and Changing Star both changed. He spent several months alone and his mental state deteriorated. Human life is not only about constant progress, that's why it feels more realistic.
Fascinating, original plot. I like deep, well written alive characters, absence of dramatic silly heroism and plenty of rational thinking. I find the main character being not overpowered and without absurd plot armor is the best, please keep it that way. That exactly what gives readers much desired tension. P.S Your writing pace is astonishing, I really hope you won't exhaust yourself which will affect your health and more importantly the quality of your writing)
