KSJ definitely needs to write in a chapter in Book 2 where Riftan confesses he had been in love with Maxi since childhood. Not that Maxi needs another reason to be completely head over heels for him of course…

I love how the author (KSJ) can immediately dive into action and make it feel so natural. We didnt have to wait 10 chapters before the key characters are introduced, and almost right away we get an inkling into why Riftan is so obsessed with Maxi. I also love how we get to see the “raw” version of Maxi, and this shows she was actually born quite brave and willing to do whatever it takes to protect the ones she loves. It also makes it even more heartbreaking to look back and realize that by the time she has grown up (in Book 1), her father had already beaten every last shred of confidence in her and she had become this timid, sheltered snowflake.

*** SPOILER ALERT *** I’m absolutely dying for Riftan to eventually tell Maxi that he has known her since they were children. Only 10 more chapters left till the Korean version of Book 2 is published on Ridi and I have a long laundry list of things I hope KSJ will write about: - Riftan admitting that he met Maxi when they were kids - Riftan and Maxi having kids - At least two chapters of them happy and back in Anatol

The moment when Riftan said he wanted to see a healer but had no energy or money to, I’m like, I’LL DO IT, I’LL HEAL YOU AND NURSE YOU BACK TO HEALTH

I know Maxi must’ve been truly terrified when Riftan came back after 3 years to fetch her from Croyso Castle, but honestly if someone that handsome grabbed me and starting making out with me in the drawing room…. 😍
