Asuma had an older brother or who do you think was Konohamaru's father? In the anime, Konohamaru is always introduced as the honorable grandson of the Hokage. I believe that Konohamaru's father died because no one else ever took care of him. Also, I don't think he can be Asuma's son since he wasn't in the village at the time and otherwise Kurenai certainly wouldn't have been interested in Asuma.
